Diaper Wrap!

You may laugh at the idea on this post, haha, but I thought it was worthy of Handy Dandy Monday. ;)

The other day I ran out of my zip-lock bags I use to for my diapers and everything. I used to just walk the dirty diapers outside, but now that it’s 15 degrees, and the walk is farther since we moved I just don’t want to freeze!  So I’ve been using my zip-lock bags.  Not really something I want to keep doing, but it contains the smell beautifully!

I do not own a diaper pail. I’ve thought about it, I have my eye on one, but soon Jeremiah will be potty trained, and while I still have Noah, I just don’t know if it’s worth it.

Ok, so anyways, since I ran out I just opened up a drawer in the kitchen that contains my press n seal, foil etc and pulled out my Press’n Seal glad wrap, and used it. To my surprise it was REALLY good!  I thought, this is a nice idea!  SO, despite the fact that it’s about dirty diapers (haha) I decided to post this idea! ;)

So, what you will need is :

  1. Press’N Seal Glad Wrap (it’s important to use this, while reg. plastic wrap might work ok, this stuff STICKS, therefore you will not get a hole in the packaging, or have the issue with it falling apart)

I was pretty excited. lol Pretty sad to be excited over this, but hey it saved a walk to the COLD trash can outside, and was a pretty inexpensive way to contain smell. :)

Now for an update on the LISTS, from my previous post: here

My husband got his tools out to make a hole in one list to see how it would work.

He used painters tape. This comes off pretty easy and we had a few rolls from all our painting we have done.

Here is the back.

It fits the hooks nicely. Now to get a pencil and a place for it, and we are set. I’ll update next week. I suspect they will all be up then, and probably I will have tested this “list” theory of mine out. :D

Have a GREAT Monday!

I like that idea. When I run out of the blue bags I have I will give that a try. :O) It is a funny post, though, lol

  2. That’s a neat trick! Thank you for sharing this and I don’t think I’ve ever wrapped my son’s diapers with anything. I guess that’s because my trash gets cleaned out frequently.

I have a diaper genie… not sure it was worth it. It does save space technically & takes longer for the regular trash can to fill up. I’m not sure if a diaper genie is what you’re considering or not, if so, what is the cost difference between ziploc bags & the diaper genie itself plus the refills?
I never would’ve thought to put dirty diapers in a ziploc bag! That’s a GREAT idea, Sarah!!! I can’t stand having a smelly house -On average I get about 3 poopy diapers a day! That’s ALOT of stinky! I’m gonna try the ziploc bag (I don’t have press’n seal stuff :/ or I’d give that a shot too)The diaper genie does kind of diminish the stench of poopy diapers but those poopy diapers still stink things up!
