Once again, there is a another cool thing to make at home. This Castile stuff is like gold I tell you!
This time it’s using the bar form. I have yet to try this, as I have a lot of dawn soap to use up first. I do believe I’ll be making this when it comes time for me to purchase a refill.
Has anyone made homemade dish soap before? If so, how was it?
Things You’ll Need:
- Castile bar soap
- Grater
- 2 to 3 cups of hot water
- 1/2 cup of lemon juice
- Large mixing bowl
- Potato masher
- Plastic squeeze bottles
- Add enough hot water to cover the soap.
Instructions:
- Grate 2 cups of Castile bar soap into a mixing bowl.
- Add enough hot water to cover the soap.
- Let the mixture stand overnight to soften the soap
- Mash the mixture together until smooth.
- Add enough hot water to dilute the mixture to a consistency that can be poured into the squeeze bottle.
- Blend the mixture completely.
- Pour the mixture into squeeze bottles.
- Shake before each use.
You can also add any essential oil you like to the mix for a smell you enjoy.

I never tried my hand at making my own dishwashing soap, but then I’m not much of a ‘making my own’ kind of girl. I’m more ‘buying my own’ woman.

haha I understand.
Lately, I’ve been into making stuff. I’m on a role, but I used to be more of the “buying my own” kind.
Sounds like another good recipe. I don’t know if I could give up my dawn soap, though. It is a great stain remover too. :O) Let me know how you like it when you try it. :O)
