This is the cake we make on my birthday every year. I think part of the reason I love it so much it because I have it in July, which turns out to be a very hot month most years, and it’s such a refreshing birthday cake for summer.
- 1 box White cake (or make one from scratch)
- 2 to 3 oz package Strawberry or Cherry Jello (You can use whatever kind you want though)
Make a white cake, either from a box or from scratch. Cool over night in refrigerator.
Boil two cups of water, add jello mix. Stir until dissolved. Pull out cake, and poke LOTS of little holes with a toothpick. Pour jello liquid into the holes. Cool in refrigerator.
Serve with whipped cream, or sweet cream. You can top it with strawberries or whatever fruit that would compliment it. We used strawberries.
