This year’s Christmas with the boys was quite fun, as they both were so much more aware of all the festivities. Noah being 2 and Jeremiah only a few months away from 4. I loved their faces when they opened each gift, and really this whole month has been exciting for them. Well, mostly Jeremiah. Noah will be a bit more into it next year I am sure.
The night before Christmas, my husband and I decided to put the presents under the tree. We normally do not do that, but thought it would be fun for the boys to wake up seeing “lots a presents” as Jeremiah puts it.
Early in the morning, which actually was a normal time for one of our boys to show up. (530) Jeremiah came into our room. But this time, he stood in front of my face and whispered “Mommy! Mommy! Get up!” Normally he just gets in bed with me. I moved a little, then he whispered some more, “Mommy! Lots a presents come see!”
At this point Adam was getting out of bed, while I stayed a little longer. Noah already showed up to our bed 30 min’s prior and was leaning on me fast asleep still, I didn’t want to get out of bed or he would fall.
Jeremiah waited patiently to open gifts. We have our traditional breakfast, then we read Luke chapter 2, THEN we open gifts. BUT this would all start once all the “peoples” (as Jeremiah puts it) arrived.
Once Noah and I got up, we opened up the stockings. Jeremiah didn’t have to wait TO long for something to open, thankfully.
Jeremiah was completely thrilled with his new monster truck, and Noah was confused where his present was. A little help from Daddy and he was well on his way to opening his monster truck.
Breakfast was delicious as always. I sure love the slushies!
On to presents!
Also, just to note. That big box of duplo was actually a present for Adam.
Since he plays legos with the boys, and Jeremiah always tasks him with something to build EVERY TIME he comes home from work, he really wanted more duplo. haha
When Jeremiah learned we were done with all the gifts for the boys he wasn’t too happy. I was surprised with his next words though. With his sweet little voice he said “Thank you everyone!” Heart melting for sure!
Of course we DID have a couple more presents up stairs in the play room for the boys. We just wanted to have dinner first then surprise them with them after their naps.
Dinner was yummy and very filling.
Our traditional dessert (Snowballs) was very delicious as well!
After the boys got up from their naps and “woke” up a bit, we went up stairs and let them “open” their last presents. They loved them!
Come summer, these will get a lot of use I am sure!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Merry Christmas!

Your Christmas looked like loads of fun. It is so much fun to see the excitement in a child’s eyes on Christmas morning, isn’t it? Your pictures are great and the food looks divine. Can I come over and share some? … LOL. Happy New Year my friend.

What an amazing holiday! The picture with the tree is beautiful, the boys look sooo adorable. Jeremiah looks genuinely pleased to have received the present that he did & Noah seems like he is enjoying analyzing his present or digging for some goodies out of his stocking! Dinner looks so inviting & delicious! Wow!!! …I’m soooo happy for you
Oh, what are the snowballs made of?
They are vanilla ice cream made in a ball rolled in coconut. We put peppermint (homemade) sauce on a plate then plop the snowball on it.
For Christmas this time, we put crushed peppermint on top of each snowball. I thought it was a really nice touch.
