Potato Carrot Soup

This soup is EXTREMELY simple to make. Even more simple if you own an immersion hand blender. I use my immersion blender SO often, it’s a must have in kitchen for me now. I used to not know what the thing was 6 months ago, and now I can’t live without it.

This is a soup I made up on my own, and to my surprise there are tons of recipes for it. Here I thought I had an original idea! ;)

Regardless of it’s lack of originality, it is delicious and a different take on traditional potato soup.

Abby enjoyed it too! Bonus there.. BUT the boys wouldn’t try it. Someday.. Someday..

It tastes great with salt crackers or warmed up bread.


Carrot Potato Soup


  • 1/2 lbs carrots
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 to 5 cups chicken broth
  • 10 small potatoes
  • 1 tsp Bragg's Seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt (add more as desired)


  1. Dice onion and cook in 4 quart pot with 1/4 cup butter. When onions are translucent, pour broth into pot.
  2. Dice potatoes and add to pot.
  3. Dice carrots and add to pot.
  4. Add Braggs and salt.
  5. Cook until you can piece potatoes and carrots easily with a fork.
  6. When tender, use immersion blender until all contents are smooth, or to desired consistency.
