The Reusable K-Cup Filter

We bought a Keurig a while back. It was a seriously sweet deal on Ecrator. First time I ever purchased off there. Have you ever purchased off that site?

It was very much a price I didn’t want to pass up.  SO anyways, it can get expensive to buy the K-Cups, so along with a sampler I bought this ekobrew Cup, refillable filter for Keurig Brewers.

BTW, when you use the K-Cups (not this filter), sometimes you can get 2 to 3 8oz  cups out of just one k-cup. Providing you aren’t into extremely strong coffee. ;)

Since we ran out of K-Cups, we realized we had some Folgers coffee left over. I pulled out our Ekobrew cup and found it to be extremely easy to use AND clean. Big bonus there.

It fits perfectly in the Keurig too.  I’ve found that it takes about 3 tsp of coffee grounds, so we just keep a tsp in the coffee container and have the reusable cup ready whenever.

So, if you are ever curious about a way to use coffee for your Keurig without the need for K-Cups, this is the perfect option for you!

Now, to enjoy a nice cup of coffee… :D

  1. Cool!! I have a Keurig and love it. I had not thought of using the K Cups more than once. That’s a great idea. And I have a bag of coffee in my pantry that has gone unused since getting my Keurig. Thanks for the information on the refillable filter. Any idea where to find these?

    • They are nice machines, aren’t they? :)
If you click the Keurig link it should take you to one on amazon. I am unsure where to get these aside from there, as that’s where I found it. Seemed a good price. :)
For some reason I would think Bed Bath and Beyond might have it, but I am completely unsure there. Just seems like something they would have.

  2. Sarah, my husband recently mentioned that he would like to get a Keurig, but that it would be to expensive to use. I think I’ll show him this post! Thanks so much for sharing. I have never heard of Ecrator either!
    Thanks for the info!

    • It would be expensive to get a Keurig, but the use of the K-Cup filter dropped the price. I also, did get the 150ish Keurig for only 80 on ecrater, NEW. So keep your eyes open for deals.

I enjoy the ease of it. Not having to get the pot ready each day. If you both drink coffee a lot, I recommend getting two of these filters. One for you and one for your husband. :)

Also, if you wanted to use the k-cups themselves, there are a lot of yummy flavors out there. You can also get big boxes of those at deal prices too. :)

  3. I use my K-Cup filter more than I thought I would.
Buying the k-cups from the grocery store can be really expensive if you don’t hit a great sale. I’ve been buying mine from http://www.greenmountaincoffee.com/ and have been doing pretty well with it.
The boxes are “bigger”(24 ct bx) than the grocery store and I get at 15% (ok now its 18% since I’ve had so many orders) discount on my order. I usually order 4 boxes at a time and pay no shipping. Usually get my automatic delivery (that I can change constantly) every 10 weeks.

    • I agree, they sure can get pricey! We had to stop for a while. That’s when we ended up using this filter more. I’ll look into green mountain coffee. I would love to have some k-cups again. I love all the flavors. :) Thank you for stopping by! :D

  4. I use this to make cold brewed coffee and love it!! I always hated having to strain through cheesecloth and would never use those bleached strainers. This even works when I am making Japanese iced coffee!

  5. I do enjoy my tea when I come over there. Hmm, I bet I could use that useable cup if I were to by the loose tea leafs. :O) I will have to get some and try it that way. :O)
