Do you ever just sit in your home somewhere and have your mind race on what “could” be done to this or that in that particular part of your house?
I find I do that often. It’s wishes, dream and then reality as I get up and move on with my day.
I’ve often sat cuddling one of the boys, and just glancing around the room I’m in. “Oh how I could change this room” echos in my mind. Remember that line from Father of the Bride? Franck says it. ;)
I’m not much of a designer, but his line comes to mind a lot and I chuckle.
When Adam and I first moved into this house, we were SO motivated to get it done. By the time Christmas rolled around (a few weeks after we had moved it) we were burnt out. Took on to much at once. Painting became something I actually didn’t want to do anymore. And if you know me, I love to paint. Anything.
Why am I even bringing this up? I suppose I am starting to get into the mood to “fix up” the house, as best we can on our budget.
There are a few things to paint here and there, not to mention I’d LOVE to redo our kitchen floor with maybe some laminate flooring or real tile. Not to mention the counters and sink would be wonderful to replace.
Here’s our floor now:
And here is our counters:
I don’t know if you remember what our kitchen used to look like, but if you are curious, here’s the before and after.
Before:
After:
Jeremiah was getting into posing for the camera. haha
Sink hasn’t changed much.
We replaced the light in the kitchen. This was due to a fire hazard. Read about that here.
I am rather happy with the after results. Just the 3 things I mentioned I “wish, dream” we could change. Someday. Not that I am constantly thinking about it, but I redesign our house like crazy in my mind.
What projects do you wish you could tackle?
What project are you working on now?

I live in a constant state of redesign, I think. This year, I made a list of projects to tackle in 2013 and presented it to my husband, like a business proposal perhaps. He surprised me and said yes to them all!!! So our projects are:
1. Finish the bedroom project we started more than 2 years ago.
2. Paint house exterior (our yellow has faded to dirty white).
3. Replace kitchen floors (sorry, please don’t be jealous).
4. Paint kitchen cupboards.
Now, let’s see what we really accomplish

haha I’ll try not to be jealous.
That’s neat he said yes to them all! I hope you can get through them all too. Curious what the bedroom project is?
We bought the fabric and “fluff” to make our own headboard, pillows and paint. TWO YEARS AGO!!! And they are still sitting there. Isn’t that awful??? By the time we get around to doing the project, I’ll be ready for something different. :-/
